Senator Jibrin revealed this on Monday in an interview with journalists including Daily News 24 reporter, Nazifi Dawud, ahead of proceedings of the ECOWAS parliament which are due to start on Tuesday.

“That’s why we are here in Kano. It’s the first time we are having this kind of meetings or session of ECOWAS in a place like this.

“We are here so that Kano will know ECOWAS parliament as the centre of commerce in Northern Nigeria. It is the nerve centre of the entire northern Nigeria.

“That’s why we brought this session here to bring it closer to the people so that Kano people will know ECOWAS parliament and the parliament will go deeper into our various societies,” Mr Jibrin said in response to question about the parliament’s mission in Kano.
