Kano State Hisbah Board has disclosed that they are confiscating and destroying any type of alcohol in the state to sanitize the society and enforce the Islamic teachings, which prohibits such acts.
Director-General of Hisbah Board Dr Aliyu Musa Aliyu stated this in an exclusive interview with Daily News 24.
The Director-General spoke a day to the hosting of Hisbah Day which is celebrated on 21st October every year.

Dr Aliyu said Kano State Hisbah Board under their leadership has achieved a lot as regards reforming and restructuring.
“We are able to train and retrain our staff and other Hisbah officials on how they can improve their services to the people.
“Core mandate of creating the organization is to calls for enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong on every Muslim, reconciliation among aggrieved parties, addressing domestic problems faced by couples, among others,” he said.
The Director General of Kano State Hisbah further said the day is set aside by the Kano State Government to review their activities and come up with new plans and strategies to improve their operations.
“On 19 of this month as part of our activity to commemorate the ‘Hisbah Day’ we go round the city on 9-kilometre roadwork to reiterate on our strengths, today which is 20 of October is dedicated for a humanitarian visit to hospitals, orphanage homes, and even Ulamas because what we’re into is part of their responsibility.
“Tomorrow will be a day to reveal what we’re able to achieve in this current leadership, because as you know this is the 4th time of destroying such alcoholic drink worth millions of Naira, which if you want to live peacefully there is for you to shun any act that is not in accordance with the norms, values and moral behaviour of Kano State people,” DG Hisbah Board said.
Dr Aliyu Musa Aliyu then appealed to the good people of the state to join hands with the Hisbah Board in sanitizing Kano from any immoral act.
The Kano State Hisbah Board was established by the Ibrahim Shekarau Administration in 2003, with the institutionalization of formerly local and privately maintained Hisbah security units.
