Mrs. Favour Igiebor, the Nigerian woman who allegedly tore her husband’s international passport at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, has spoken out to explain her actions.

In a recent video that has gone viral, Mrs. Igiebor called out her husband, urging him to reveal the full story behind the incident.

The initial footage, which circulated widely online, showed Mrs. Igiebor tearing her husband’s Nigerian Standard Passport shortly after their arrival at the Lagos Airport on Saturday. In response to the attention the video received, she participated in an interview with Jejoja’s family on social media, where she defended her actions.

“I am the lady that had issues with my husband before we came to Nigeria. This issue has been going on for a very long time, but I was just dancing to the tune till I arrived in my mother’s land Nigeria. It just happened that I did what I did,” Mrs. Igiebor stated.

She went on to criticize those who judged her without knowing the full story. “All those bloggers carrying this video on social media, you have to ask what happened. Don’t just look at the actions alone. I am not a mad woman who will just come and act like that. I have my reasons, I have gone through so many things,” she said.

Mrs. Igiebor also addressed the reactions of people online, emphasizing that she chose to act in Nigeria rather than in Europe, where they had been living. “So many of you are just commenting on the video, I am not like that. So many of you are coming to comment, what if I had done this in Europe, where we are coming from? Because I did not want to make him go through a lot of stress that is why I did it in Nigeria,” she explained.

She further expressed her frustration with the situation, sharing that she has endured many hardships. “I don’t care about what you people are commenting, you have to be sure before commenting. So many people saw while I was acting, those who had thinking faculty were calm to ask. I have gone through a lot of things, family issues here and there, my husband has been the one operating my social media page, but now I am operating it,” she added.

Mrs. Igiebor also highlighted the sacrifices she has made in her marriage, saying, “I suffered with my husband, I know how many years I suffered with him, is it till when I go you people will say this woman did not speak out? What I did was because action speaks louder than voice, I did what I did for him to know I have been bearing it.”

Addressing those calling for her arrest, she responded defiantly: “Please, those of you saying she should be arrested, come and hold me responsible, I don’t understand, for what reason? I know the pains I am passing through, I know what my eyes have seen. I cry every day after three kids. If he knows he has the mind, let him come out and say the truth of what is happening, let him come and speak out,” she concluded.
