Popular social media commentator Daniel Regha has described internet fraudsters, aka Yahoo boys, as “lazy people.”

He said they are lazy because they indulge in scamming others to make money instead of doing legitimate work, Daily Post reports.

He stated this while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of Doyin’s Corner podcast, hosted by Big Brother Naija’s ex-housemate, Doyinsola David.

Regha frowned at the hypocrisy of those who demand good governance but encourage internet fraudsters.

The social media influencer said: “I dislike them basically for being lazy because I believe Yahoo boys are lazy people. Because if you are not lazy, you would not be looking for a way to make money without putting in the work.

“I think one of the things that Nigerian people do that kind of gets me upset is that they come out and campaign for good governance, and then when someone comes out to criticise something that is morally wrong, you see them defending it.”

He said there are a lot of people who have the opportunity to go into fraud, but they shun it because not all acts are honourable.

He added that internet fraud is not something society should encourage or glorify.
