A Civil Society Organisation (CSO), The Grassroots Mobilisers for Good Governance has cautioned another civil organisation group known as Integrity Watch over what it called attempts to slander the good image of Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, a philanthropist per Excellence.

The group said Integrity Watch lied over its petition contained in a statement signed by its national coordinator, Mr. Olowobusoye Esolaye and its zonal leader, Mr. Kamilu Abubakar Gwamna to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Atiku Abubakar that Dr Jamilu Gwamna should not be trusted.

Cautioning the group, Ismail Mohammed Baba the national organising secretary of GMGG said Dr Gwamna is a highly respected politician and philanthropist who has paid his dues and still doing wonderful things to empower youths across Gombe State and Nigeria.

Baba stated that though politics was already being played but said it should not be played with the hard earned integrity of big personality like the likes of Dr Gwamna, the Sardauna of Gombe.

Baba said “we are aware that Dr Gwamna is amongst the few persons with huge investments on youth having sent many youths abroad on scholarship and empowered thousands of youths through employment.

“Those so-called integrity watch folks are being sponsored to spoil the good relations between the former vice president Abubakar and Dr Gwamna and to ensure that PDP fails”

Baba said if the group really liked the former VP to win the 2023 general election, they will not want to spoil relations with a man like Gwamna who commands large followers of PDP supporters in Gombe State and beyond.”

He questioned why a group whose name bears integrity will lack integrity in their dealings, “please be guided and stop playing politics with the names of those who have contributed to the human-capital development of youths.

Baba said the Sardauna of Gombe is a man of peace, integrity, honesty, and a grassroots philanthropist who does not deserve such unfair treatment through fake news by the fake Integrity Watch group.

The organising secretary of GMGG asked the CSO group to focus on their mandate (if they have any) and stop chasing shadows because of selfish interests.
