The Zamfara State Police Command said it has rescued ten of the people abducted by some gunmen at the early hours of Wednesday in Gada community of Bungudu Local Area of Zamfara State.
The state commissioner of police, Mr. Ayuba Elkana disclosed this while addressing newsmen at the police command on Wednesday.
He said the rescue of the victims was perfected as a result of the joint effort of police tactical team, the military and members of the vigilante group.
According to him, the joint tactical team was able to disperse the hoodlums and restore peace in the area.
He explained that among the rescued victims was a one-year-old baby who was kidnapped along with her mother.
Recall that at the early hours of Wednesday, some suspected gunmen invaded Gada community and killed five persons including a traditional ruler.
