A renowned actress, Aisha Najamu, became even more famous when featured in the popular blockbuster film series Izzar So.

The movie is being produced by Bakori Entertainment and Directed by Lawan Ahmad.

Izzar So is a film series shown on YouTube and Cinemas.

Aisha Najamu, in an exclusive interview with BBC Hausa, answers about eleven questions about her lifestyle.

Who is Aisha Najamu Izzar So?

I am Aisha Najamu by name. I am popularly known as Aisha Izzar So due to my role in the film series.

People say you are a desperate lover. How would you respond to this?

No, I am not. They say so probably because of the role I play in the movie series. I am a human being and bound to fall in love. But I am not the desperate lover.

You do always appear in light makeup. Why do you choose so?

I do makeup, but not always. I put on makeup just for films or when I want to go for a photoshoot. I mostly like just a light powder and lip glow. I’m not too fond of the application of foundation and concealer.

When did you start acting, and in what movie do you first appear?

I started acting in 2019. I started featuring in musical videos. But later on, I went into acting films. Izzar So was my first film.

Did your parents approve of your decision to become an actress?

Absolutely no. My parents didn’t want me to become an actress. It took several consultations to convince them to allow me.

Which state are you from?

I am from Jigawa State, Northwest Nigeria. But I now reside in Kano State.

What is your marital status?

I was once married, but things went wrong, and we parted ways. But if I am opportune to meet someone I love, I will marry again.

What has happened to you that you will never forget?

There was a specific incident a man came to see my father.

I told the man my father was at the farm. He then asked me to take him to the farm.

We wasted hours without seeing my father.

One funny thing was that I had never visited the farm before, and so I lost direction.

When we came back, my father was waiting for me. He flogged me mercilessly.

I still carry the scar on my forehead till today.

I am using my headgear to cover the spot of the wound. I will never forget the incident in my life.

What makes you happy?

My children make me happy.

I am proud to have been married before.

I have my children as my credit.

They are my source of inspiration.

They are also my legacy.

Have you ever been jilted?

Not. I was married off immediately after I finished my secondary education. I never had the opportunity to stay in a relationship for an extended period. My family don’t allow women to grow older without marriage.

My family also don’t believe in long time relationship. What brings disappointments is long time relationships, and we are not allowed to do that in my home.
