President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Muhammad on her re-appointment for a second term.
The Nigerian leader assured her of prayers and support of citizens and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) where she served for some years.
The President thanked the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres for the confidence reposed in the former Minister of Environment.

A statement by spokesman, Femi Adesina, said it was another opportunity for Amina Muhammad to serve the global body and humanity, which further enhances the voice and presence of Nigeria.
Buhari said Muhammad’s dedication to duty has always been exceptional, and her interest in improving the lives of people, through personal and institutional efforts, continues to stand her out.
“The UN Deputy Secretary General remains an inspiration to many women in Nigeria, Africa and the global community”, he stressed.
The President joined family, friends and associates of the renowned technocrat and diplomat in celebrating the re-appointment.
Muhammad she was a onetime Special Adviser to Ex-Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Post-2015 Development Planning and Presidential Adviser on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
