The Kaduna State Police Command said its operatives, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, foiled an attack launched on Kachia community.
This was disclosed in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige on Tuesday.
“The Nigeria Police, Kaduna state command, in conjunction with army, Navy had on 11th April, 2022 at about 1600hrs acted on information that some elements with sophisticated weapons suspected to be bandits have invaded Akwando Village in Kachia LGA to cause their usual carnage.” He said.

“The combined team of security agents swung into action immediately, moving to the location and foiled the attack by kidnappers.
“On sighting the security operatives, the criminals started firing, just as the operatives returned fire, killing one bandit and recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with 17 rounds of live ammunition, while the remaining bandits fled with bullet wounds.
“The corpse has been deposited at Kachia General Hospital as investigation and rigorous patrol is ongoing with a view to apprehending the fleeing bandits to face the full glare of law,” he said.
Normalcy has since been restored to the affected community.
The command solicited public support in providing useful information about the injured bandits for possible arrest.
