A Kano High Court has sentenced Abdulmalik Tanko and Hashimu Isyaku to death by hanging for proving them guilty of kidnapping and killing Hanifa Abubakar, a five-year old pupil of Noble Kids Academy.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Usman Na’abba gave the order while delivering his judgment on Thursday.

Justice Na-Abba, sentenced Mr Tanko (First defendant) to death by hanging and five years for criminal conspiracy.

He also sentenced Mr Isyaku (second defendant) to death by hanging and two years for attempting to kidnap and three years for concealment.

The court also sentenced the third defendant, Fatima Jibrin two years imprisonment, for attempt to kidnap and criminal conspiracy.

Five count charges of criminal conspiracy, attempt to kidnap, abatement, kidnapping and concealment we slammed against Tanko, Hashimu Isyaku, 37, and Fatima Musa, 26, February 14.

The offence, the state said, contravened the provisions of sections 97, 95 and 273, 274(b) and 277 of the Penal Code, Laws of Kano State, 1991.
