Some Premier League clubs were interested in signing the Dutchman earlier in the summer transfer window, but none were willing to pay the asking price set by Barcelona.
Barcelona, on the other hand, is desperate to cut their wage bill in order to balance their precarious financial situation, which means Depay could leave the Catalan club for nothing before the summer transfer window closes in September.
Depay, a former Manchester United star, joined Barcelona from Lyon in 2021.
