Canon, a digital imaging company, on Tuesday in Lagos, launched four camera models from its EOSR-System: EOS R3, EOS R5C, EOS R7, EOS R10.
The company said the launch was part of its R-Tour to Nigeria and a demonstration of its commitment to Africa.
Canon R-Tour, which started in Morocco and Kenya, aims to build relationships by getting closer to customers throughout the African continent.
Unveiling the product, Amine Djouahra, Sales and Marketing Director (B2C), Canon Central and North Africa, said each of the products was completely different from users’ point of view and addressed different issues.
“We believe that in Nigeria, we will have so many different usages of our camera, that is why we keep bringing out new products that will be able to answer to every need.
“Nigeria is an important market to us and represents 20 per cent of our African turnover; this shows how big the Nigeria market is for Canon.
“That is why we want to make Canon the most preferred brand for Nigerian customers.
“Going by our products and technologies, we are the only player who is covering such a wide portfolio from input to output when it comes to digital imaging cameras, photos, video and printing,” he said.
Djouahra assured that the company would stick to the Nigerian market in good and in its bad times.
He said, “my journey started in Nigeria in 2016 and at that time, it was a time of recession; unfortunately, Naira was jumping from N200 to almost N400.
“Seven years later, after a small disruption from the market due to coronavirus, we are back to hold this kind of gathering and unfortunately naira is also fluctuating again.”
He pledged the company’s commitment to do its best to continue to adapt to the situation in Nigeria.
“We will continue our very best to adapt our business operations; why the country is progressing.
“Today, I will say that we are still running business, we are still recruiting people, we are still expanding our partnership, we believe that Nigeria will have better days in the future,” he said. (NAN)
