The death has been announced of Alhaji Labaran Kabir Magashi, a close ally of the presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Magashi died on Tuesday morning in Kano and has since been buried according to Islamic rights.

His death was confirmed by Hassan Saifullahi, the media aide to Kwankwaso.

Until his death he had been a politician and contested for membership of the State House of Assembly in the 2019 general election.

He is survived by his family and other close relations.
