The Kano state Commissioner for Environment Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso says the present administration under the leadership of Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is keen and committed to ensuring environment devoid of waste.
He therefore pledged to continue to explore more ways to manage and clear waste in the metropolis for smooth day to day activities among the teeming residents.
The Commissioner who spoke yesterday at Adakawa dump site in Dala local government area during the routine monitoring exercise by the state taskforce committee, expressed satisfaction with the level of progress so far achieved.
He assured the people in the area that the bulldozer machine will remain at the site until and unless it evacuates all the waste dump at the site.
Dr. Getso also enjoined people in the area to complement government concerted efforts by avoiding indiscriminate dumping of waste which may leads to the blockege of water ways.
Responding on behalf of the people in the area Malam Hamza Abdullahi adakawa an elder in the community and Malam Jinjiri adakawa expressed profound appreciation to the Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for putting smiles in their faces and prayed ceaselessly for the government and commissioner in particular for his unwavering commitment and dedication in this direction.
