The Kano Electricity Distribution Company, KEDCO, has announced that 11 areas within the metropolis will experience temporary power outage.
The announcement was made by KEDCO’s Deputy General Manager, Corporate Communications, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, in a statement issued to journalists in Kano on Sunday.
The company, in the statement said the problem occurred after the 60MVA transformer at Dan Agundi transmission station developed fault, which affected Zaria road and CBN 33KV feeders.
As a result, some areas such as Farm Center, Tarauni, parts of Nassarawa GRA, Hausawa, Hotoro, Kar Kasara, Sallari, Unguwa Uku, Naibawa, Yan Lemo and Masarauta, all in Kano metropolis would remain out of supply until when Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN fix the problem.
However, the statement said, the TCN crew are currently working to address the challenge.
“This is to inform the general public that the 60MVA transformer at Dan Agundi transmission station had developed fault which had affected Zaria road and CBN 33kv feeders.
“As a result, the following areas will remain out of supply until after TCN must have rectified the problem: Farm Center, Tarauni, parts of Nassarawa GRA, Hausawa, Hotoro, Kar Kasara, Sallari, Unguwa Uku, Naibawa, Yan Lemo, Masarauta all in Kano State.
“However, the TCN crew are currently working to address the challenge.
“We kindly apologize to our numerous customers for any inconveniences in this regard,” the statement reads.
