An Ile-Ife magistrates’ court in Osun State on Monday remanded two robbery suspects, Salami Fatai (25) and Tope Adesiyan (25).

The prosecutor, ASP Joseph Adebayo, told the court that the defendants conspired to commit a felony on November 3, 2022, around 1 am, in the Alawusa area, Edunabon, in Ife North LGA.

He said the defendants armed themselves with guns and other weapons and robbed one Oyeniran Tiltus of five mobile phones.

He further said the defendants also stole one Bajaj motorcycle with cash sum of N565,000 and transferred N5m from their victim’s bank account.

The Magistrate, Mrs A O Famuyide, did not take the plea of the defendants, saying that her court lacked jurisdiction to try armed robbery cases and remanded them pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
