The Kano state government says it will plant one million seedlings during raining season across forty-four local government areas.

The State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso disclosed this during monthly environmental sanitation exercise for Markets, Moto parks, Business premises, abattoirs, and Government establishment held on every Friday’s end of the month in Kano.

Dr. Kabiru Getso said the seedlings will be planted in all nooks and crannies of Kano state which will replace indiscriminately trees that have been fallen by people.

He said all arrangements have been concluded to send the Environmental Pollution bill to the State House of Assembly saying if the bill becomes law and assented by the state Governor will preserved forestry infrastructure.

He said Ganduje’s administration has to take the necessary measures to green Kano which will subsequently tackle erosion and desertification.
