With the reported death of Murphy Afolabi, Nigeria’s film industry is once again in mourning.
The popular Yoruba actor, 49, died in the early hours of Sunday in his home.
Tunde Ola-Yusuf, a veteran film director and producer, confirmed his death on Sunday afternoon via his Facebook page.

The Yoruba movie star is said to have fallen in his bathroom and hit his head on the floor leading to his death, Legit reports.
“May you rest in peace. “May God grant the family and close friends the strength to bear the loss,” he wrote.
The deceased’s birthday was just over a week ago, on Friday, May 5.
Murphy, who began his career with a film titled ‘Ifa Olokun’ under Dagunro’s direction, has appeared in and produced a slew of others.
