President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman as the new Executive Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

This significant move comes as part of the Presidentโ€™s ongoing efforts to ensure effective management of the countryโ€™s Hajj operations.

Professor Usman, a highly qualified scholar, holds advanced degrees from the University of Madinah and Peshawar University in Pakistan, both esteemed institutions in Islamic studies.

His deep expertise in Hajj operations is underscored by his previous role as Chairman of the Kano State Pilgrims Board. In this capacity, Usman managed the largest quota of state pilgrims in Nigeria, demonstrating his capability and experience in handling large-scale pilgrimages.

The appointment of Professor Usman is subject to confirmation by the Senate. Should he receive Senate approval, he will take on the responsibility of overseeing NAHCON, which coordinates the Hajj pilgrimage for Nigerian Muslims.

President Tinubu has expressed high expectations for Usman, urging him to lead the commission with “integrity, transparency, and utmost fidelity to the nation.”

This directive reflects the Presidentโ€™s commitment to ensuring that the management of Hajj operations upholds the highest standards of ethical conduct and efficiency.
