Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has expressed profound gratitude for the reinstatement of the 16th Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi.
El-Rufai described the occasion as “one of the most important events in my life,” emphasizing its personal significance.

He made the remarks on Wednesday during the Arewa Tech Fest, an event that brought together political and technology leaders to discuss progress in Northern Nigeria.
The festival was attended by prominent figures, including the governors of Kano, Katsina, and Zamfara states.
“The reinstatement of his highness is one of the most important events in my life, and I want to congratulate you once again,” El-Rufai said.
Emir Sanusi was dethroned in 2020 amid controversy, a decision that sparked mixed reactions across the country. However, for El-Rufai, this reinstatement represents a moment of vindication and renewal for Northern Nigeria’s traditional leadership.
