1. Economic Challenges and Solutions
Tinubu acknowledged the difficulties many Nigerians face, saying, โ€œI am deeply aware of the struggles many of you face in these challenging times.โ€ He assured the nation that his government is committed to โ€œfinding sustainable solutions to alleviate the suffering.โ€

2. Progress on Security
The President expressed optimism about ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, revealing that โ€œover 300 Boko Haram and bandit commanders have been eliminated.โ€ He added that peace has returned to โ€œhundreds of communities in the North,โ€ allowing displaced citizens to go back home.

3. Economic Reforms and Foreign Investment
Tinubu stressed the importance of reforming the economy, stating, โ€œWe decided to reform our political economy and defence architecture.โ€ He celebrated that foreign direct investment has exceeded $30 billion over the past year.

4. Agricultural Development and Mechanization
The President praised states like Kebbi and Niger for their role in boosting agricultural production. โ€œWe are playing our part by supplying fertilizer and making tractors and other farm equipment available,โ€ he said, announcing plans to assemble 2,000 John Deere tractors locally.

Tinubu introduced the Renewed Hope Labour Employment and Empowerment Programme (LEEP), aimed at creating โ€œ2.5 million jobs, directly and indirectly, on an annual incremental basis.โ€ He also announced a National Youth Conference to address key issues affecting Nigeriaโ€™s young population.

Tinubu highlighted efforts to expand the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in mass transit. โ€œThe Federal Government is ready to assist the thirty-six States and FCT in acquiring CNG buses for cheaper public transportation,โ€ he said.

The President provided updates on the country’s fiscal policies, stating, โ€œWe inherited a reserve of over $33 billion.โ€ He noted the governmentโ€™s success in reducing the debt service ratio from โ€œ97 percent to 68 percent.โ€

Tinubu announced that key figures, including the Senate President and Chief Justice, will be conferred with the honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON). โ€œThe government will soon announce all the beneficiaries of our national honours for 2024,โ€ he added.
