The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and immediate past governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, has said that he is willing to reconcile with the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples’ Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The new national chairman of the APC described his relationship with Kwankwaso as symbiotic.

Daily News 24 reports that since 2015, there has been no love lost between Ganduje and Kwankwaso.

Ganduje, served as Kwankwaso’s deputy for eight years and succeeded him after his second term.

During a live interview with some radio reporters in Abuja a few days after his emergence as the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje said his feud with Senator Kwankwaso could end since they are political friends.

Ganduje, who spoke in Hausa, stated that ‘sulhu alkairi ce” meaning resolving differences, is the best.

“Our relationship with Kwankwaso led him to be governor, and vice versa. And that has made us famous. We are now leaders in Kano State.” He said.

“Since there is a saying that if two elephants fight, it’s the grass that suffers, we want the two elephants to stop the fight.” He added.

Ganduje also noted that Kwankwaso was his childhood friend and their political trajectory started in 1999 when he stepped down for him during PDP gubernatorial primaries, which produced him to be governor of Kano state for the best interest of the party at that time.

“My relationship with him is symbiotic; I helped him become governor of Kano State, and he helped me become his deputy in the past.

Similarly, I have mutual respect for his late father and his siblings; even when his father, the District head of Madobi, died, I was the one that insisted that one of his sons must succeed him despite the pressure from some of my cabinets to not do so,” Ganduje said.

“I did all that I had to do to resolve my grudges with Kwankwaso, but it yielded an unfruitful outcome from him,” he added.

However, Ganduje declared that the APC is ready to welcome Kwankwaso to their party if he is ready to join with a pure heart for Kano and national developments, as it is said that two heads are better than one.

“If Kwankwaso returns to the APC, our strength has increased. But if he is defecting, he shouldn’t come with the notion that he will chase us out of the party. He should come in with the belief that we will dine together and move the party forward.

“He has the governor; he should give us appointments. At the national level too, we make his dream of becoming Minister a reality.” Ganduje said.

The constant finger-pointing between Ganduje and Kwankwaso has left many Nigerians weary.

It has not only affected governance but also jeopardised peace in the state.

  1. Ganduje is not looking for reconciliation he is just making jest of kwankwaso. because there are provocative statements for telling kwankwaso to give them appointment in the state so as for them too to fullfil his dream of becoming minister this is an insult. first of all kwankwaso refuse to accept the ministerial offer unless to recommend someone among his allies. Secondly if Ganduje has power for ministerial nomination why didn’t he makes nomination among his allies like Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, Gawuna etc who are closer to him. That Ahmad Tijjani Gwarzo nominated by the president does not have close relation with Ganduje politically everybody knows he is among Tinibu boys as he contested for governorship candidate in ACN, the time Tinibu was in ACN. so Ganduje Stop the Insult pls.

    • My brother you have said it all, Ganduje is a disgrace to human race I wonder what type of politics he is playing, can you imagine him sitting with his wife and her friends mocking Maryam Shetty’s nomination by president Bola Ahmad Tinubu, which polititian will do that in Nigeria? only him 😭😭😭

  2. He need reconciliation with Kwankwaso that is why he said all this. Despite the insult, murder of kwankwaso’s youth that they politically sponsored. If he forgot, they didn’t. Ganduje didn’t have good ambition to kano and its people as well. If not, why he did and his team member to tackle free and fair election in kano state by brought strangers with weapons during this recently passed election. That’s why prophet S.A.W says ” love who loves you gently, he is about to be your enemy one day. Also hate who hates you gently, he is about to be among who loves you one day.
