Mr Sylvester Alabi, the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi, has assured residents of the state of maximum security as Nigeria marks its 61st independence anniversary.

Alabi gave the assurance in a statement signed by SP Ahmed Wakil, Spokesman of the Command, on Thursday in Bauchi.

He said that the command has adopted effective crime preventive measures in partnership with sister security agencies and other organisations.

“To nip in the bud all forms of crime and criminality and also to flush out criminals from their hideouts in the state,” he said.

The CP called on the citizens to go about their normal businesses and observe the celebrations in a peaceful and orderly manner.

He enjoined the people to cooperate with the police and other security agencies in the course of ensuring a peaceful atmosphere in the state.

Alabi further congratulated Gov. Bala Mohammed and the people of the state on the occasion of the independence anniversary. (NAN)
