The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has inaugurated a 22-member Transition Council.

The council is charged with the responsibility of handing over power to the president-elect, coordinating security for him, facilitating briefings between government agencies and the president-elect, and coordinating communications between the outgoing president and the president-elect.

President Muhammadu had last week signed Executive Order No. 14, which provides, among other things, the legal framework for the management of the transition process and the handing over of power to the president-elect.

The SGF urged the members to put in their best and ensure that the next administration enjoys the finest support to make it succeed.
