The Nigerian Governors Wives Association, in collaboration with her Excellency the first lady of Zamfara state, Hajiya Aisha Bello Matawalle has donated N100,0000 survival Grant each to two survivors of rape in the state to serve as a relief and a means of uplifting their economic status.

It is no news that the First Lady , Hajiya Aisha Bello Matawalle and the NGWA has been putting much commitments in the campaign towards ending Gender Based Violence (GBV) in their various states.

This has been demonstrated through various activities particularly during the 16 days of activism. The cash grant of N100,000 each to two gender based violence survisors in each state is one of their many initiatives in the COVID-19 Pandemic era.

While delivering the cash donation on Thursday, the First Lady of zamfara state, who was represented by the honorable Comissioner of Women Affairs, Hajiya Zainab Lawal Gummi, appreciated the NGWA for all their dedicated work in fighting Gender Based Violence and promoting gender equality across the country.

She described their show of compassion to the girls as timely and charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the grant to attain a better future.

Receiving the grant, one of the victims appreciated the effort of the governors’ wives association and the First Lady for always supporting the cause of women. They promise to utilize the grant for a good purpose.
