The Birth of Ife Built Environment Summit was to bring together stakeholders in the built environment to address critical industry issues. Through facilitating discussions that will raise expected consciousnesses in creating impactful solutions, our vision is to tackle the challenges we currently face as one of the primary drivers of our environment. We also seek to provide students with practical insights into the industry, igniting their interest in their courses and showcasing various prospects related to the built environment.
As students and key stakeholders in the built environment, we believe that our impact should go beyond what we learn in the classroom. We strive to focus on providing real-life solutions to challenges and nurturing the interest of our students by bringing industry professionals to share practical insights from their experiences. By uniting experts, professionals, and stakeholders from various sectors, our summit aims to foster knowledge sharing, inspire collaborative action, and drive positive change to propel the built environment forward.

About the Theme: Sustainability: Repositioning the Nigeria Built Environment
Under this theme, our objective is to address key challenges related to the sustainability of our environment. We aspire to explore various new approaches and techniques from the conception stage to the maintenance stage of every building project in the built environment. This is to foster required collaborations among pertinent stakeholders to elevate the standards and quality of our built infrastructure in Nigeria. This summit will focus on how we can turn sustainability into a reality within our environment.
With AI as a Driver of Sustainability, we will delve into the innovative applications of Artificial Intelligence in enhancing sustainability in the Built Environment. By exploring its potential to optimize resource efficiency and its re-usage, minimize waste and embrace its recycling, conserve energy, and enhance decision-making processes, we aim to harness the power of AI for sustainable practices and advancements.
Another important discussion will revolve around Climate Resilience and Adaptation Strategies for Nigerian Infrastructures. This highlights the urgency to adapt and safeguard our infrastructure from the impacts of climate change. We will examine strategies and technologies that enhance resilience, promote sustainable construction practices, and mitigate the risks associated with extreme weather events.
The Ife Built Environment Summit will bring together over 2000 students studying any built environment-related courses at Obafemi Awolowo University and other institutions, as well as construction companies and other stakeholders. This gathering aims to help students develop sustainable ideas that can create future opportunities for them, as well as provide them with the knowledge to actively contribute to making the environment sustainable.
