Gunmen have attacked the Oguta High Court, located in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.

The attack, which took place on Sunday night, comes less than a week after a judge of a magistrate court was killed during the court session.

Daily Trust reports that the hoodlums invaded the premises of the court around 11.30 p.m. and rained bullets on the facility.

The high court is located inside the premises of the headquarters of the local government.

It was learned that the registry, appeal court record office, file room, secretary to the high court judge’s office, office of the high court bailiff, and chamber of the high court judge were affected.

The sole administrator of the Oguta LGA, Ofili Ijioma, who confirmed the incident to journalists, said that the arson had been reported to security agents.

He said that he had commenced a discreet investigation to unravel those behind the incident.

The police public relations officer in the state, ASP Henry Okoye, said that he was yet to get full information on the incident.
