President Muhammad Buhari has pledged to continue dealing with criminals, irrespective of what, where and who commits the act.

The President who made this pledge at the northerner states Governors’ forum meeting held in Kaduna through his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari said criminals should be dealt with accordingly without resulting to ethnic, religious colouration. 

Declaring open the meeting of 19 Northern States Governors’ forum and other critical stakeholders of the region, the president reiterated that all forms of criminal actors,  ranging from bandits,  insurgents, kidnapping among others which has become a huge threats to the innocents citizens of the country would not be tolerated.

“We are confronting the various security dimension of challenges to slow down the emancipation of poverty for our people, if there is no peace there will be no sustainable  growth and without development there will be no peace either.”

“I want to draw your attention to key issues bothering the Northern region these are population growth, agricultural and among others. We will be waiting for your resolutions on these issues for positive change”

“The Government will continue to deal with insurgents, bandits, kidnappers and other criminals who constitute a threats to innocents citizens across the country. Criminals are criminals and should be dealt with accordingly”

He further confirmed that he has put the new service chiefs on their toes to device and deploy new strategies and come up with new plans that will put a lasting stop to these precarious situation where the lives and properties of the good people continued to be threaten by the enemies of the land. 

“I must appreciate the efforts of the 19 Northern Governors for their contributions towards national growth and development in this challenging period of our well-being, certain fundamental issues need to be frankly deliberated upon,  and actionable resolutions be made, the president noted.

Also, chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council, Sa ‘ad Abubakar III, who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers appreciates the efforts of the executive lords of the Northern region, and also  pledge to continue to support them.

The meeting was attended by the deputy speaker,  members of the National Assembly, representatives of the federal Government, security chiefs, traditional rulers, among other critical stakeholders
