The statement stated that the governor while presenting the keys of the vehicles to the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Usman Gwamna, said the gesture was to boost the security situation in the state.

Badaru, represented by the SSG, Alhaji Adamu Fanini, assured the organisations that his administration would not hesitate to take any measure or make any sacrifice in order to maintain the relative peace and security of the state, the statement said.

“It is our constitutional and moral responsibility to do whatever possible to secure the lives of the citizens, and doing that is the whole essence of government in the first place,” the governor was quoted as saying in the statement.

The statement quoted Gwamna to have commended the governor for the gesture and pledged to make judicious use of the vehicles in the statement.

He expressed the readiness of the command to continue to maintain peace and security in the state.

Presenting the key of a Toyota Hilux Van to the representative of the ICPC Kano/Jigawa Zonal Office, Malam Umar Muhammad, the governor said that the gesture was to enable the commission to monitor Constituency Projects in both states. (NAN)
