In an ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), the Kebbi coordinator of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Muhammad S. Augie has said that so far the main office in Birnin Kebbi have registered a total of 1,101 applicants.

According to him the state office has established 9 computer based test centers in the state to ease applicants registrations.
The CBT centers are; state headquarters which is professional test center, DIT Rima round about, Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi, MACCAT which is located at the emir of Gwandu palace, Command Science College at Jega, KSUSTA center at Alieru, ZES at Zuru local government all the centers have been accredited by the state JAMB office.
He attributed the delay for the registration to weak network which makes difficult for applicants to get profile code which is the first step of the registration which also includes the NIN of the applicant.
He added that, applicants who getthe profile code eventually access epin to commence payments of 400 and another 350 for examination materials all through the banks as they dont accept cash in the office.
Augie who debunked allegations of favouring some applicants said, no candidate is allowed in whose name is not in the day’s list as they write names of applicants who turn up for registration and the list is strictly followed by officials in charge.
On low turn out of applicants Augie said it may not be unconnected with the registration procedure particularly getting the profile code as it may sometimes takes a long time depending on the strength of the network.
He urged the applicants to shun examination malpractice and double registration as it attracts jail term if caught.
One of the applicant waiting for registration at the office Benedict Kekong said he has not seen any favoured applicants since he arrived for his registration.
Abdulmahid Abubakar also denied allegations of favoured candidate.
While addressing the masked applicants in the provided pavilion Augie urged them to believe the existence of COVID-19 as many who dismissed it as lies died.
He described JAMB relationship with the state government as cordial.
