Its celebration galore in Kebbi state as Senate confirms the appointment of a legal guru Hajiya Salamu Hussaini as Nigeria’s human rights chief.
Hussaini who was a two times Minister of Foreign and Women Affairs was nominated as Head of the Nations Human Rights Chief.
Before her recent appointment, Hussaini was a Board Member of Nigeria Flour Mills where she performed creditably well, her track records of excellent services as Minister and the various places she worked earned her the recent appointment.
Her humanitarian gesture too knows no bounds as she solely runs an NGO named Salamatu Hussaini Foundation where she trained both young and older women on various skills with empowerments aside her contribution to orphans who she trained in schools.
Speaking on behalf of the people of her area on her recent appointment one Aliyu Umar from Nassarawa said he was not surprised that she was appointed human rights chief because her doubtless capabilities can take her anywhere.
He added that, she was in smelter company and did well, she also worked with security and exchange commission as legal secretary and many other places that her records are open to all.
“As an experienced legal practitioner I am sure she can galvanise the human rights commission by ensuring human rights abuses in the country are addressed and issues resolved.
”Hussaini will raise the country’s bar at the human rights global stage by bringing down human rights abuses index, we are happy for her and we pray she succeed in the hard task ahead of her.” He said.
Hajia Fatima also from Birnin Kebbi said Hussaini is a unifying force as she will seek to ensure justice is served to whoever deserves it, she will promote girl- child rights and ensure human rights abusers doesn’t go free either uniform or civilian.
Her appointment came at a time when the country grapples with huge human rights abuses, as she settles for the job lots awaits Hussaini to rid the country of careless human rights abuses and write the country’s name in gold as a nation with fewer unattended human rights cases.
