The Managing Director of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Mr. Ahmed Dangana, has called for a robust partnership with the Kano State Water Board in order to improve service delivery and enhance the socio-economic well-being of the people.

This is contained in a statement issued by the company’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Sani Bala Sani, on Thursday in Kano.

Dangana spoke when the Managing Director of the Water Board, Alhaji Ahmad Bichi, paid him a courtesy visit.

He said: “Water and electricity are indispensable commodities of life; therefore, it is natural that we work hand-in-hand to improve our services to upscale the living standards of the people.

“We acknowledge the importance of unhindered water supply to the health and wellbeing of the people, which is why we supply electricity to water board facilities through dedicated priority feeders with quality and reliable power supply, unless there are grid issues that are beyond our control,” he said.

Dangana said he had mobilized a dedicated technical team to serve as a rapid response team for any technical fault that may arise on the water board feeders and also avert the occurrence of any such fault through preventive maintenance measures.

Earlier, Bichi said that they were at the KEDCO head office to consolidate on the existing relationship between his board and the electricity company and seek assistance for improvement and sustenance of power supply to help achieve his vision of delivering steady water supply to residents.

The managing director stressed the need for a symbiotic relationship between the two organizations, adding that the visit to KEDCO was his first official outing owing to the importance of power supply to enable him to deliver on his mandate.
