Paris Saint-Germain will begin their preseason against Le Havre AC at Campus PSG, their training facility.

PSG were narrowly crowned Ligue 1 champions, with Lens finishing second, just one point behind them.

Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi‘s departures paved the way for a slew of new arrivals this summer. Luis Enrique, who took over for Christophe Galtier, will gain first-hand experience as a PSG manager.

3 important things you need to know

  • PSG are on a five-match winning run against Le Havre
  • PSG finished their Ligue 1 journey on a losing note to Clermont Foot
  • Kylian Mbappe is expected to lead the team this season too

Le Havre claimed the Ligue 2 title last season and will be testing their mettle in the top flight for the first time since the 2008-09 season. Having won the Ligue 1 title a record 11 times PSG would eye a maiden Champions League title and Enrique’s experience will come in handy for them.

Match Composition

That’s all there is to it! The 2023-2024 season of Paris Saint-Germain begins today on the green rectangle.

The Parisians host Le Havre in their first summer practise match.

A meeting will be held at the new PSG training centre, the PSG Campus in Poissy. Luis Enrique decided to call in 27 players before departing for a ten-day tour in Japan.

The six PSG summer recruits, as well as the Mbappé brothers, are present.

On the other hand, Neymar, Kimpembe, and Mukiele are out due to injury, as is Nuno Mendes. Soler, Bernat, Paredes, Wijnaldum, and Diallo are also not among the 53-year-old Spanish tactician’s extended squad.

On the Le Havre side, some players left during the off-season, while others arrived.

However, Luka Elsner’s squad is essentially the same as the one that won French Ligue 2 last season.

Le Havre will play their third friendly match this afternoon, following two victories over Slovenian club Triglav (9-2) and Caen (3-1).

Today, both coaches should give many players playing time, so rotations should occur on a regular basis. The usual 4-3-3 formation is used by Luis Enrique. This meeting is initiated by Hernandez, Ugarte, Asensio, and Lee Kang-In.

It’s a classic 3-4-3 formation in the Le Havre ranks.
