The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudiness and sunshine from Thursday to Saturday.

NiMet`s weather outlook released on Wednesday in Abuja predicted partly cloudy to sunny skies to prevail over the Northern region with slim prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Taraba in the morning hours of Thursday.

According to it, parts of Bauchi, Adamawa, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara and Taraba have prospects of isolated thunderstorms with the rest of the region in partly cloudy to sunny skies later in the day.

“Partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected over the North central cities in the morning hours with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Plateau, Niger, Kogi and Kwara during the afternoon and evening hours.

“Cloudy skies are anticipated over the Southern cities with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ogun, Ondo, Oyo and Lagos state in the morning hours.

“However, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Imo, Abia, Edo, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Delta, Rivers,

Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Cross River state during the afternoon and evening hours,“ it said.

According to NiMet, partly cloudy skies are expected over the Northern region with chances of a few thunderstorms over Taraba in the morning hours on Friday.

The agency predicted isolated thunderstorms over Southern Borno, Taraba and Adamawa with the rest of the region in partly cloudy skies later in the day.

It further predicted partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the Northcentral cities with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Plateau, Benue and Kogi state during the afternoon and evening periods.

The Southern cities are expected to be under cloudy skies with pockets of thunderstorms over parts of Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River and Akwa Ibom in the morning hours.

NiMet anticipated isolated thunderstorms over parts of Anambra, Enugu, Ondo, Imo, Ogun, Ebonyi, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Bayelsa, Lagos, Ogun and Rivers during the afternoon and evening hours.

“On Saturday, partly cloudy skies are anticipated over the Northern region with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Taraba and Adamawa in the morning hours.

“Later in the day, thunderstorms are expected over parts of Kaduna and Taraba. The North central cities, such as Federal Capital Territory, Kwara, Kogi, Nassarawa, Niger and Benue have prospects of thunderstorms in the morning hours.

“It should be cloudy with spells of sunshine over the region, residents of Plateau and Benue state should expect isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours.

“The Southern cities are expected to be cloudy in the morning with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Cross River, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom,“ it said.

The agency forecast isolated thunderstorms over parts of Imo, Abia, Ondo, Edo, Cross River, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom later in the day. (NAN)
