The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudiness and sunshine from Friday to Sunday.

NiMet`s weather outlook released on Thursday in Abuja predicted partly cloudy to sunny skies over the northern region with slim chances of isolated thunderstorms over Mambila Plateau during the morning hours on Friday.

According to NiMet, there are chances of thunderstorms over parts of Katsina, Zamfara, Bauchi, southern-Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba and Kaduna during the afternoon and evening hours.

“The North Central region is expected to be cloudy during the morning hours. However, there are chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Plateau, Niger, Kwara, Kogi and the FCT during the afternoon and evening hours.

“ The Inland cities of the South are expected to be under cloudy skies with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Oyo, Ondo and Imo States during the afternoon and evening hours.

“Cloudy skies are expected over the coastal cities of the south with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Cross River and Lagos state during the afternoon and evening hours.“ it said.

The agency also forecast partly cloudy to sunny skies over the northern region in the morning hours of Saturday.

It further forecast prospect of few thunderstorms over parts of Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Taraba, Adamawa and Kaduna States later in the day.

NiMet envisaged partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the north central region with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Plateau, Nassarawa, Kwara and Benue States during the afternoon and evening hours.

It anticipated cloudy skies over the Inland and the Coastal cities of the South with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Cross River, Rivers and Akwa Ibom States during the morning hours.

NiMet predicted thunderstorms over parts of Ondo, Osun, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, Edo, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Delta States later in the day.

According to it, partly cloudy to sunny skies are expected over the northern region in the morning on Sunday.

The agency predicted chances of few thunderstorms over parts of Adamawa, Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, Bauchi, Gombe and Taraba States during the afternoon and evening periods.

It forecast partly cloudy to cloudy skies over the north central region with chances of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Niger and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) during the morning hours.

“ Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over parts of Niger, Kwara, Benue and Plateau States.

“The Inland and the Coastal cities of the south are expected to be under cloudy atmosphere with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Lagos State during the morning hours.

“There are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over parts of Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Cross River, Ekiti, Osun, Enugu and Imo States during the afternoon and evening hours, “ it said. (NAN)
