Kano Pillars Football Club was held to 1-1 draw by Enugu Rangers Football Club in its adopted home ground match at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna Sunday in the ongoing 2020/2021 NPFL season.

Enugu Rangers FC defender Earnest Governor gave the visitors the lead eight minutes into the game with a header while Auwalu Ali Malam restored the home side confidence in the 44 minutes of play through free kick outside the box.

The first half went 1-1 draw and the second half started very high from both side, but all efforts from both teams proved abortive to score the winning goal.

In the last quarter, centre referee of the match, Wale  Adeneyi from Oyo state gave a matching order to Kano Pillars FC midfielder Yusuf Bala Maigoro for holding Rangers player denying him a goal scoring opportunity.

This is the first time Kano Pillars dropped points at home since the commencement of the league this season.

And Auwalu Ali Malam was voted as Man of the match by the journalists that covered the match.

Speaking after the match Sai Masu Gida Technical Adviser, Emmanuel Lionel Soccia said he is satisfied with the performance of his players despite the draw.

Emmanuel Lionel Soccia said the game was a good match because both side due their best but he never expect it will end draw.

“Yes we dropped two points at home for the first time and we should remains focus on the task ahead of us,” Coach Emmanuel said.

He expressed confidence his boys would do something in match day fifteen when they visited Abia Warriors FC in Okwige stadium next Sunday.

In his reaction shortly after he received man of the match award Auwalu Ali Malam of Kano pillars FC courtesy of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Kano state chapter thanked God for free injury match and dedicated the award to his mates and the entire family of Kano Pillars FC.

Auwalu Malam said rangers FC came and collected a point in their  home and they would tightening their belts to ensure that they would continue struggling until they achieve their target by winning the league.
