President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently held a high-level meeting with three African presidents at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

The gathering included Umaro Sissoco Embalo, the President of Guinea-Bissau, Patrice Talon, the President of the Republic of Benin, and Bazoum Mohammed, the President of the Republic of Niger.

The purpose of the meeting, as revealed in a statement by Dada Olusegun, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, was to discuss the outcomes of the recent ECOWAS Summit.

During the summit, an ECOWAS Presidential Taskforce (TROIKA+1) was established, consisting of Benin, Guinea-Bissau, and Nigeria, with the support of Niger.

The task force’s primary focus is to address the security challenges that arose following the withdrawal of the United Nations’ MINUSMA mission.

President Tinubu also had a separate meeting with Dr. Omar Aheu Touray, the President of the ECOWAS Commission.

Their discussions centered around the post-MINUSMA security challenges and the collaborative efforts of the TROIKA+1 task force.

The photos from the meeting showcased the leaders engaging in productive conversations and highlighted the significance of regional cooperation in addressing security concerns in West Africa.

The outcome of this meeting and the subsequent actions taken by the participating countries will be closely monitored as the region strives to enhance stability and security in the face of evolving challenges.
