She was born on 5 February 1980 in Isale Eko and moved to London when she was 11 years old to attend secondary school. Tiwa Savage signed a publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2009 after participating in the UK edition of The X Factor and graduating from Berklee College of Music.
