Kano State House of Assembly, in its plenary session today presided over by the Speaker Rt Hon Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, has directed for the immediate stoppage of the establishment of corner shops and any other establishments within the premises of Masallacin Waje Juma’at Mosque, in Fagge.
This follows a motion of matters of urgent public interest moved by a member representing Dala Constituency, Hon. Lawan Hussaini Chediyar ‘Yan gurasa.
He calls on House to order for the immediate stoppage of any physical structures within the perimeter walls of the Masallacin Waje.

He also pointed out that the corner shops currently going on are so disheartening and need to be instantly stopped in the Public’s interest.
The motion attracted series of discussions and support from the Honourable members.
Where the House call for immediate and instant stoppage of any infrastructure with immediate effect.
Likewise, the Honourable House constituted a nine-man committee to critically look into the issue from its roots and report back within two weeks as announced by the Speaker Rt Hon Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, and the House agreed.
Members of the committee are; Hon. Muhd Uba Gurjiya Member representing Bunkure Constituency as Chairman, Hon. Sunusi Usman Bataiya Member,Hon. Magaji Dahiru Zarewa Member,Hon. Nuhu Abdullahi Achika Member,Hon. Lawan Hussaini Chediyar’Yan gurasa Member,Hon. Abubakar Dalladi Isa Kademi Member,Hon. Muhd Tukur Member and Hon. Sale Ahmed Marke while Deputy Director Legal Services would serve as Secretary.
Similarly, the House received a report on the Community Reorientation Council Law of 2021 by the Chairman of the House Committee and Deputy Majority Leader Hon. Abdullahi Iliyasu Yaryasa, where the House agreed with the report after some deliberations.
Furthermore, the Honourable Members received an Audit report from the Office of the State Auditor General.
Later the House adjourned sitting to tomorrow, Wednesday,6th October 2021, in a motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon. Labaran Abdul Madari Member representing Warawa Constituency and seconded by Rt. Hon. Abdulaziz Garba Gafasa Member representing Ajingi Constituency and the Imam of the House, Hon. Sunusi Usman Bataiya, Member representing Albasu Constituency, led a closing prayer.
