Udu to say the least is one of the longest-serving head of the civil service in Kebbi, he served many military governments in Kebbi state and two civilian governments, serving and retired civil servants in Kebbi state are the witnesses of his contributions to a virile and active civil service and how hard he fought and firmly stood for their rights when he was steering the boat of civil service in Kebbi state.
During his time no civil servants no matter his connection can approach him with fraudulent ideas or make any attempt to make him compromise the laid down civil service rules, he has been a no-go area to biased civil servants.
Udu has left a huge vacuum when he left the civil service with honor and dignity to pave the way for a change of baton as he has attained retirement period.
Dallatun Gwandu was born in the ancient town of Birnin Kebbi in 1959, he had his primary education at Tudun Wada primary school still in Birnin Kebbi from 1969 to 1975, born by strict Islamic parents young Udu ran both western and Islamic studies currently.

His blessed public service life added a feather as he was appointed Director of protocols in Kebbi state from 1996 to 1999, later acting head of the civil service which he was later confirmed before his retirement, he was permanent secretary at various ministries in Kebbi he was in Budget, youths, and sports as permanent secretary.
