Kano State’s Yoruba community has asked Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to help them build a World Class Yoruba House in the state.

The Oba Yoruba Kano, Murtala Alimi Otisese (Adetimirin 1), stated this on Saturday at a reception to mark Governor Ganduje’s appointment as Aare Fiwajoye of Ibadanland by the Olubadan on June 18th, 2022.

He explained that constructing the structure would further solidify the relationship between the community and the state, as well as help Governor Ganduje reassert himself as “a bridge builder of unrivaled repute.”

Oba Murtala explained that the title was given in recognition of the governor’s meritorious actions, and that it reminded him of an ancestral maxim that character is the beauty of a human being.

In his remarks, Ganduje emphasized the positive implications of these inter-ethnic and inter-tribal awards, saying they went beyond the individual recipients to strengthen national integration and cohesion.

Ganduje, who was accompanied by members of his cabinet and some traditional rulers, stated that Nigeria was in desperate need of national integration.

He stated that Nigerians must manage their differences, and that Kano State has been successful in ensuring relative inter-ethnic and inter-religious peace because his administration has managed these differences.

“All those who live in Kano State and do business here are treated as indigenes, which is why there is no tribal or religious conflict in the state,” he said.

He thanked the Olubadan and the entire Yoruba people for the honor.
