The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressive Congress (APC) and Senator Uba Sani as the winners of the state governorship election.

Declaring the result, the State Collation Officer for Gubernatorial Election (SCOGE), Prof. Lawal Suleiman Bilbis, said the number of registered voters in the state is 4,335,208; accredited voters are 1,581,662; valid votes cast are 1,546,747; invalid votes cast are 19,114; and total votes cast are 1,565,861.

Professor Bilbis said Senator Uba Sani of the APC polled 730,002 votes.

He said Hon. Mohammed Isa Ashiru of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scored a total of 719,196 votes.

According to him, “Senator Uba Sani, having scored the highest number of valid votes and met the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”

All of the PDP’s collation agents for the election, Danjuma Sarki, refused to sign the result.
